Professional athletes, elite athletes and also novice athletes will on the 26th day of June 2016 meet in San Diego for the renowned Father Joe’s San Diego International Triathlon. The participants taking part in this race will be competing for the top prize of over $7,000. There will also be other competitive sports taking place alongside the triathlon such as a 30k and 20k Cycle, a 1000 and 500-meter swimming competition and more. The event will be hosted by the St. Vincent De Paul Village.
This triathlon will benefit Father Joe’s Villages, which is one of the largest homeless service providers in San Diego. Over 3000 meals are served to the homeless by Father Joe’s Villages each day. They also provide housing, healthcare, education, clothing, rental assistance, job training, addiction training and more, to the people in need in their neighborhood (s).
