The U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge and Dimensional Art Exposition are returning to San Diego’s downtown waterfront for 2019. World Master Sand Sculptors from the Netherlands, Italy, Canada, Latvia, and Russia will be here to challenge the best in the U.S. Be amazed and fall in love with their works of art. Come one, come all!

This will be the eighth year that one of the world’s most important sand-sculpting competitions will be held on this built-for-the-occasion beach, with over 300 tons of sand dumped on the pier on San Diego’s Big Bay. The 8th annual edition will be open to the public.

There’s also live entertainment (tribute bands, singers and more), a sandbox and rides for kids, a dozen gourmet food trucks, a fantastic view of the bay and all the great stuff that you always find on the Embarcadero, like Seaport Village and the Headquarters, the U.S.S. Midway Museum, Maritime Museum and more!
